Rennbericht von Olivier Jakob:

„The Nyon Triathlon was celebrating this year its 30th anniversary. And that does not make me younger as my first ever triathlon was the first edition of the Nyon Triathlon. Back then we were still riding bikes made of steel, with a six-gear shift on the downtube. In those times, you were not a triathlete unless you were racing in the shortest speedo swimwear as possible, and 30 years later here I was again at the start but this time dressed-up in a full tri-suit. I remember well my first triathlon in Nyon because during the swim the rescue boat came to me to check if I was all right, not very impressed with my “Indian-style” swim which was a one-arm sort-of-crawl.  Now that I crawl with two arms I do a bit better in the swim but only slightly better: I came out of the water in 47th position of my age category, but moved up 28 ranks on the bike and only lost one place on the run. In the end, I am 20th in my age-category (45-54 ). Pretty happy to have not lost more than one place on the run and looking forward to the day when I can swim more smoothly. „
